World War I.
I have allways been interested in history. I think it is a part of my heritage. With this interest and beeing an officer of the reserve it seemed natural that I became interested in the history of war. You can learn a lot from the mistakes of other people.Sometime during the early 1980´es I happened to read the novel called "August 1914" by Alexander Solsjenitsyn. It is about the first battle on the eastern front between Germany and Russia in World war I. It was "The Battle at Tannenberg", a very legendary battle, which has been called the Cannae of the 20th century.
Right from the beginning I was fascinated by these events, and I started reading more about Tannenberg and the events that followed. Here you have my record of The Battle at Tannenberg.
